Mild earthquakes strike Thailand and neighbouring countries

A series of mild earthquakes hit Thailand and its neighbouring countries on Monday, with the strongest measuring a magnitude of 5.3.

Thailand’s Earthquake Observation Division reported eight tremors since midnight, with six having their epicentre in Myanmar, while Thailand and Indonesia recorded one each.

  • 4.56am – Magnitude 2.4, Depth 10 km, Myanmar
  • 2.29am – Magnitude 2.9, Depth 10 km, Myanmar
  • 2.15am – Magnitude 5.3, Depth 10 km, Myanmar
  • 1.36am – Magnitude 1.9, Depth 10 km, Myanmar
  • 1.26am – Magnitude 2.1, Depth 10 km, Myanmar
  • 0.56am – Magnitude 3.0, Depth 10 km, Myanmar

As of now, there have been no reports of damage or casualties from these events, according to the Earthquake Observation Division. Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation and have advised residents in at-risk areas to remain vigilant for potential aftershocks.
