Indonesia quake 6.3 magnitude shakes parts of Southern Thailand

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at a depth of 47 km. The tremor was felt by residents in Thailand’s Trang, Satun, and Phuket provinces.

The Earthquake Surveillance Division of the Thai Meteorological Department reported that at 3.57pm (Thailand time) on May 11, 2025, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred with its epicentre in northern Sumatra, Indonesia.
